Canskate is the flagship program of Skate Canada. Skaters are taught the basic skating skills in a fun learning environment. At Kerry Park Skating Club we offer these programs on Saturday mornings and early evening on Tuesdays.
Due to COVID-19 we are not able to offer Learn To Skate at this time. Ages 5 and over is the recommended age from Skate Canada but we will assess each skater. They must be able to skate on their own, fall down and get up without assistance.
STARskate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. The next step after Canskate, these skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Our STAR skaters at Kerry Park skate on Saturday mornings and Wednesdays nights. For more information in the STARskate program, click here.
Also, once you enter STARskate, our coaches are available to you for private lessons.

Competitive Skate is a program for skaters in singles, pair and ice dance wishing to compete in qualifying events within Skate Canada. Many skaters who compete in the qualifying event structure also take tests in Skate Canada’s STARSkate Program. Our junior, intermediate and senior skaters skate Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
